NEW HARDWOOD FLOORING INSTALLATIONS
With a new hardwood flooring installation you have two choices of wood that you can choose to install:
Site Finished Hardwood Floors
Site finished hardwood floors offer a classic look with tight-fitting planks and a seamless finish. Its traditional finish-in-place method provides flexibility for numerous finishing and inlay options, allowing homebuilders to add their personal touch to their hardwood floor. Site finished hardwood flooring boasts easy maintenance both in day-to-day cleaning as well as in refinishing for a fresh look.
Pre-finished Hardwood Floors
Pre-finished hardwood flooring combines the beauty of hardwood with convenience. Installation is virtually mess-free and time efficient since it requires no sanding or finishing. It's durable, scratch-resistant finish will last for years to come. View our prefinished floors >>
SCREEN & RECOAT
Screen and recoating is a very good way to add more years to the life of your hardwood floor before having to refinish your hardwood floor. It is also a very short and inexpensive process. First, we sand to abrade the existing finish. This will remove any surface scratches that are in the finish. It will not remove dents or scratches that have penetrated into the wood itself. Then we apply a coat of finish to the hardwood floor, which helps protect it for years to come.
REFINISH
If the screening and recoating does not remedy your hardwood floor problems (ie. dents, scratches etc.) then you may have to do a complete refinish. This process is more labor intensive than the previous process. It involves sanding the entire hardwood floor down to bare wood and removing all of the finish. Then we re-apply 3 coats of finish to your hardwood floor, which will protect it for years to come.
REPAIRS
At Northern Michigan Hardwoods we can offer all wood flooring repairs from single board replacements to a major water damage repair. If you have a hardwood flooring problem, we can fix it!
